About Drosera
The 3 sisters of Queensland
Adelae, prolifera, and schizandra make up the 3 sisters. They live in a tropical environment with lots of rainfall. This can make it hard to catch prey if the rain washes it away! Schizandra now has reduced tentacles on each leaf and some hypothesize that, due to lack of prey capture, it is evolving away from carnivory.
Rapid movement
Did you think that Venus flytraps were the only fast moving carnivorous plant? Think again! Drosera (and Utricularia) contain species that can move rapidly to catch prey.
